Have you ever wanted to change the world but felt too overwhelmed by the complexities of it all?
The Climate Leadership Programme is a six-month comprehensive training journey for Indian youth aged 18-35, wanting to take action locally and looking for a place to start.
Our program helps you build a strong foundation in the ‘whys’, ‘whats’, and ‘hows’ of climate change, through sessions on climate science, green skills, leadership, communications, entrepreneurship and systems thinking. By engaging in live virtual sessions, in-person workshops, field visits, hands-on mentorship, and focusing on real-world skills, like project design, advocacy, and communications, you can move confidently from awareness to action.

Celebrating our first two cycles of young climate champions!
Over the past two years, we have proudly celebrated the graduation of two cohorts of passionate young leaders. Each ceremony was a testament to their dedication and impact, graced by distinguished guests who inspired the graduates with their presence. In the first year, former Union Cabinet Minister, Hon. Smt. Smriti Irani, honored us as Chief Guest. The following year, UNEP Goodwill Ambassador and acclaimed actor Dia Mirza joined as Chief Guest, adding her voice to the call for sustainability and youth leadership.

Highlights from both cohorts

Cohort Testimonials

Shyam VS,
Chennai
"The Climate Leadership Programme set the bar very high on what feeling understood and being part of a community feels like. It propels me to keep doing what I am doing with even more vigour.”

Pranav Bhosale,
Bangalore
“We had people from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu in the cohort, which added a lot of value and diversity, helping us learn from each other’s lived realities. The network built here is the biggest asset that has come out of this programme for me. The TCI team has been absolutely dedicated and their attention to detail was amazing. The skills I have learnt here are also transferable to my personal & professional life.”

Ishan Dwivedi,
Varanasi
“My time at The ClimAct Initiative was truly transformative and maybe it's the beginning of something big - it gave me clearer vision on what I am up to, and I’m grateful for your mentorship. This program shaped my approach to sustainability in a more holistic manner.

Priti Burud,
Pune
“The interactive modules, insights, and mentorship from the team, all played a crucial role in helping us see climate action from multiple perspectives. I will always cherish the people I have met in this cohort; the friendships, late-night brainstorming sessions, and shared commitment to a greener future made this journey truly unforgettable!”

Tanishka Wagh,
Pune
“I joined the CLP because I wanted to move from just talking about climate change to actually making a real difference. The CLP brought me into a space where I could learn from others, share ideas, and collaborate with passionate individuals who see climate action from different angles. More than anything, it made me realize that solving the climate crisis isn’t a solo effort , it’s about building a strong community that lifts each other up and takes action together.”

Simran Arora,
Pune/Delhi
“My CLP journey has been nothing short of amazing, largely because of the people I met. One of my favorite sessions was the one on managing eco-anxiety. The session talked about how to occasionally detach ourselves from external events, allowing ourselves the time to manage our anxiety and then return to their cause with greater energy.”
Trainer testimonials

Aditi Tandon,
Senior Production Editor,
Mongabay-India
“Thank you for having Mongabay India as Knowledge Partners for the Climate Leadership Programme. I loved doing the workshop with the cohort - they were enthusiastic, curious and had wonderful questions. And of course, we would all agree, the mock press conference performances they pulled off in such little time were brilliant! Also it was impressive to see them fully invested in the sessions.”

Shreya Adhikari,
Head of Climate and Podcasts,
India Development Review (IDR)
“The two communications sessions that we did with the CLP cohort at the in-person in Bangalore was so eye-opening. It was so interesting to see the perspectives and questions the cohort had, which made us pause and think about our own approach to climate communications and how we could do it better. They give me a lot of hope for leadership for the future and I hope they continue on the path that they have set out on.”

As we work collectively on this important initiative, I'm really looking forward to everything we're going to do together and meeting the new cohorts, which I hope there will be many more to follow.”

Pooja Tilvawala,

“TCI is a beacon of hope for the young climate leaders in India who have brilliant ideas but need a community, training, and resources to bring those to fruition. TCI has been the perfect implementing partner for the India Hub of Youth Climate Collaborative because of their welcoming and intentional approach to working with these young leaders, and advancing their solutions.
