CLIMATE

LEADERSHIP

PROGRAMME

Looking to kickstart your dream career in climate?

The Climate Leadership Programme (CLP) is a 6-month journey tailored for Indian youth ages 18-29, who are wanting to take their first steps into climate action and build their green careers.

What is the Climate Leadership Programme?

The CLP helps youth build a strong foundation in the ‘whys’, ‘whats’, and ‘hows’ of climate change, through sessions on climate science, green skills, leadership, communications, entrepreneurship and systems thinking. By engaging in live virtual sessions, in-person workshops, field visits, hands-on mentorship, and  focusing on real-world skills, youth can move confidently from awareness to action.

This purpose-driven programme empowers youth to launch their careers in the climate ecosystem through knowledge building, guided mentorship, and upskilling, while also connecting them to TCI’s extensive network and community. Moreover, the CLP is equally valuable for young professionals seeking to expand their knowledge on climate change.

01

Local Focus: You get real, hands-on training that tackles actual climate problems people are facing right now. No abstract theory—this is about learning through real situations and challenges that communities are dealing with.

02

Global Lens: It's not just local. You'll also learn how international climate policy works, to help you understand the big picture and connect local action to global change.

03

Accessible Mentorship: Get paired with mentors and thought-leaders who are experts in their field and can guide you on building your own climate-action project. Real climate education that comes with actual support. We won’t just leave you to figure it all out alone.

04

Community building: You're not doing this solo. You'll be part of a tight-knit group of young people who are equally passionate about climate action. Think study group meets advocacy squad.

05

Making climate action accessible: The programme is meant to remove barriers so that young people from all backgrounds, including those who've been left out of these conversations, can step up and lead real climate solutions.

The Climate Leadership Programme set the bar very high on what feeling understood and being part of a community feels like. It propels me to keep doing what I am doing with even more vigour.

Cohort Testimonials

Thank you for having Mongabay India as Knowledge Partners for the Climate Leadership Programme. I loved doing the workshop with the cohort - they were enthusiastic, curious and had wonderful questions. And of course, we would all agree, the mock press conference performances they pulled off in such little time were brilliant! Also it was impressive to see them fully invested in the sessions.
